Combustible gas and toxic gas detection alarm installation location

Time: 2024-01-12

In the daily design, installation and safety inspection, many people can not figure out the combustible gas and toxic gas detection alarm should be installed in what position, installed how high. Coupled with various types of inspectors say different things, the enterprise is responsible for the personnel can not understand. So, gas detection alarm in the end should be installed in what position? Today, we on the combustible gas and toxic gas detection alarm installation location specifications with you to exchange learning.

Combustible gas and toxic gas detection alarm installation location

What places should be installed combustible gas and toxic gas detection alarm?

The following combustible gas and (or) toxic gas release sources should be arranged around the detection point: 1, gas compressors and liquid pumps of the dynamic seal; 2, liquid sampling port and gas sampling port; 3, liquid / gas discharge (water) port and venting port; 4, often disassembled flanges and often operated valve group.

Second-stage release sources: will not release under normal conditions, and even if released, only occasionally for a short period of time. The main object of combustible gas and toxic gas detector detection is the equipment or place belonging to the second level release source.

Gas detection alarm installation location selection:

● The gas detector should be installed in a place where there is no shock, no vibration, no interference from strong magnetic fields, and where it is easy to be overhauled, and the clearance between the detector's installation location and the surrounding process piping or equipment should not be less than 0.5m.

● If the release source is in the equipment area of open air or open plant arrangement, the horizontal distance of the combustible gas detector from any release source within its coverage should not be more than 10m, and the horizontal distance of the toxic gas detector from any release source within its coverage should not be more than 4m.

● If the release source is in a closed plant or a semi-open plant with poor local ventilation, the horizontal distance of the combustible gas detector from any release source within its coverage should not be greater than 5 m, and the horizontal distance of the toxic gas detector from any release source within its coverage should not be greater than 2 m. Detectors should be installed in the fire embankment of the liquid tanks of liquefied hydrocarbons, Class AB, BA, and other liquid tanks that produce combustible gases. The horizontal distance of the combustible gas detector from any release source within its coverage should not be greater than 10m, and the horizontal distance of the toxic gas detector from any release source within its coverage should not be greater than 4m.

Requirements for the installation position of combustible gas and toxic gas detection alarm: when detecting heavier-than-air combustible gas or toxic gas, the installation height of the detector should be 0.3m-0.6m from the floor (or the floor of the building); when detecting lighter-than-air combustible gas or toxic gas, the installation height of the detector should be 2m above the source of release. When detecting combustible gas or toxic gas which is slightly heavier than air, the installation height of the detector should be 0.5m-1m below the release source; when detecting combustible gas or toxic gas which is slightly lighter than air, the installation height of the detector should be 0.5m-1m above the release source. 1.2, the leaking medium is heavier than air; 1.0≤ratio1.2, the leaking medium is slightly heavier than air; 0.8ratio1.0, the leaking medium is slightly lighter than air; ratio≤0.8, the leaking medium is lighter than air.

Due to the temperature and altitude on the density of the gas has a greater impact, in order to facilitate the judgement of the leakage of the medium leaked into the atmosphere, the leakage of the medium is heavier than the air, the leakage of the medium of the gas molecular weight of the molecular weight of the air as a judgement of the molecular weight of the local air as opposed to the relative ratio of the molecular weight of the medium. Gas detection alarm is a professional instrument to detect the concentration of combustible gas or toxic and hazardous gas leakage, through real-time monitoring, it can send out warning signals in time to remind operators to prevent accidents. However, if the instrument is installed in the wrong location, it will not only fail to play the role of early warning, but also cause greater safety hazards because of false alarms and no alarms. Therefore, it is crucial to know the installation position of the alarm.
