Multi-combustible gas detector installation and use of detailed explanation

Time: 2024-02-02

Combustible gas detector is a key instrument to ensure the safety of gas environment in industrial and commercial places. Only when used correctly can they perform at their best. Incorrect use may lead to inaccurate detection, damage to the instrument components and so on. So, how should users correctly use the combustible gas detector to ensure the safety of the gas environment in the premises?

Multi-combustible gas detector installation and use of detailed explanation

Classification of common combustible gas detectors

There are many ways to categorize combustible gas detectors, in order to meet the needs of industrial and commercial customers to use the instrument correctly and efficiently, according to the type of product, combustible gas detectors can be divided into fixed combustible gas detectors and portable combustible gas detectors.

Fixed Combustible Gas Detectors

Fixed combustible gas alarm devices include combustible gas detectors and gas alarm controllers. It can continuously monitor the combustible gas leakage concentration in the place for 24 hours. When the detected combustible gas leakage concentration reaches or exceeds the preset value, the alarm will immediately send out sound and light alarm signals, and can also be linked to the sound and light alarm lights, fans, solenoid valves and other equipment, the place of the leakage of gas for emergency treatment. Fixed combustible gas detector generally need to be installed in the hole, widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, comprehensive pipeline corridor, catering cafeteria and other fields.

Portable Combustible Gas Detector

Portable combustible gas detector is a kind of equipment that can be carried around and detect the concentration of leaking gas in the place at any time. Commonly, there is a single gas detector, all-in-one composite gas detector, etc., the detection method has diffusion detection, pump suction detection and so on. Portable combustible gas detector is often used in the field inspection, limited space operations and other places.

How to use fixed combustible gas detector correctly?

Correct installation: Choose the appropriate installation location according to the site environment, for example, for the possible existence of combustible gas leakage areas, such as pipelines, gas tanks, valves and other nearby, the detector should be installed. At the same time, the installation height of the detector should be chosen according to the concentration of the gas to be measured: for detecting gases less dense than air, the combustible gas detector should be installed at a distance of 30-60 centimeters from the ceiling; for detecting gases more dense than air, the combustible gas detector should be installed at a distance of 30-60 centimeters from the ground.

Connect the power supply: Connect the combustible gas detector to a stable power supply and make sure the power supply is reliable.

Power on and warm up: After power on, the combustible gas detector enters into automatic warm up state, the duration is about 60 seconds. After the warm-up is completed, the detector will enter the normal working state for a long time without interruption.

Daily maintenance: Regularly calibrate and maintain the combustible gas detector and clean the dust and impurities on the probe to ensure its accuracy and reliability.

Precautions: When using the fixed combustible gas detector, you should pay attention to the environment and conditions of its use, and avoid using it in harsh environments such as high temperature, high humidity and high dust.

How to use the portable combustible gas detector correctly?

Power on warm-up: Press the power on button to warm up the portable combustible gas detector, to see if the instrument starts normally, under normal circumstances, the instrument will emit a "beep" sound, and enter the normal work of the detection state. If the instrument can not start normally, it needs to be checked and repaired.

On-site detection: Place the portable combustible gas detector in the environment to be detected, wait for a period of time, so that the instrument and the gas in the environment to fully react. Generally speaking, the waiting time should be determined according to the gas concentration on site and the performance of the instrument.

Reading data: After the portable combustible gas detector has finished detecting, you can read the gas concentration value through the display on the instrument or through the software accompanying the instrument. If the gas concentration exceeds the alarm value, the instrument will send out an alarm through sound, light, vibration and other ways, and display the corresponding alarm information.

Shutdown after inspection: After the inspection is completed, the portable combustible gas detector will be shut down. Before shutting down, make sure the instrument has finished all the data reading and recording work.

Precautions: When using the portable combustible gas detector, you should pay attention to the environment and conditions of the instrument, and avoid using it in high temperature, high humidity, high dust and other harsh environments. At the same time, the instrument should be calibrated and maintained regularly to ensure its accuracy and reliability; when the power is low, it should be recharged in time, and if it is not used for a long time, it should be switched on every half a month or so to check the power and recharge in time. Users should install and use the combustible gas detector correctly in the process of using, and guard the gas environment safety at all times.
