The weather is getting cold, especially when the cold wave comes, it may cause a wide range of strong cooling, and accompanied by gusty winds, rain and snow, which can seriously lead to frost, freezing and many other natural disasters. How can gas detectors installed outdoors cope with the coming cold wave?
Most of the gas detector working environment is harsh, in order to make the instrument better adapted to a variety of complex environments, as early as before leaving the factory, Chisholm Electric will carry out high and low temperature test, salt spray test, aging test, drop test, etc., in order to protect the instrument’s high sensitivity and reliability.
Of course, the cold weather, the maintenance of the instrument is also essential. So, how to ensure the safe use of gas detectors in extreme weather conditions?
Installing a rain cover for the instrument can protect the instrument from rain/snow in rainy and snowy weather, effectively avoiding water damage to the instrument, thus prolonging the service life of the instrument.
Checking the glass cover of the gas detector is a routine maintenance work. In rainy or snowy weather, the maintenance personnel should strengthen the frequency of checking. If the glass cover is not fastened in place, it can be tightened when there is no liquid penetration inside; if there is liquid penetration inside the glass cover, the instrument should be stopped and dried quickly, and the instrument should be sent for inspection and maintenance if the calibration data is abnormal after the power is turned on again.
3.Timely maintenance
Under the influence of special weather and manual operation error, the instrument water, soaking phenomenon occurs from time to time. The staff should inspect the instrument in time and contact professionals or return it to the factory for repair if any abnormality is found.
