01 Is the new gas meter running fast? !
Rumor: Before each gas meter leaves the factory, it must be approved by the national metrology administrative department and qualified by the professional metrology verification agency authorized by the market supervision department of this city before it can be installed and used.
For old gas meters that have been used for many years, some micro-impurities in the gas may affect its measurement accuracy. The longer the old meter is used, the greater this “impurity impact”. Therefore, the state stipulates that the service life of gas meters with natural gas as the medium is generally not more than 10 years.
02 Does installing a self-closing valve lead to increased gas consumption?
Rumor: The self-closing valve is a safety switch. It can only be opened when there is gas and pressure in the pipeline. Once the main valve is closed or the gas is stopped, it will automatically close, which has nothing to do with gas consumption.
03 Overdue gas appliances
Gas appliances have a service life. Once they are overdue, not only the gas consumption increases, but also the hidden dangers and hazards increase.
The state stipulates that the scrapping period of natural gas water heaters and gas stoves is 8 years. In other words, if your water heater looks good on the surface, but it is time to “retire”, it should be replaced in time!
04 The influence of temperature
In the process of using gas, everyone subconsciously thinks that they use more in summer when taking a bath, and less in winter. In fact, the real situation is just the opposite. Under normal circumstances, with the same gas usage habits, the gas consumption in winter will be higher than that in summer. This is mainly due to the low temperature in winter. When heating the same ingredients and water, more gas is consumed than in summer, so the gas consumption in winter will be significantly higher than that in summer.
05 Using an inappropriate water heater/hot water boiler
What does the water heater liter represent? The liter generally refers to the water output per minute when the water heater is running at full load and the temperature rises by 25℃. In fact, too low or too high a liter may cause an increase in gas consumption. Therefore, it is recommended that friends choose a suitable water heater (hot water boiler) according to their own needs.
06 Bad gas usage habits
Although some residents have the same number of people in their homes, each household has different dietary preferences, cooking methods, living habits, etc., which will cause differences in gas usage.
For example: some residents like to take a quick shower, while some friends will stay in the bathroom for a long time; some like to cook with a high fire, while some are used to cooking with a low fire, etc., all of which will cause different gas fees.
07 Gas leakage
If the gas is not used and the gas meter is “moving”, then there may be a gas leak. When the leaked gas accumulates to a certain concentration, it may cause fires, explosions and other accidents. Therefore, users should call the gas company in time for emergency repairs.
